Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Short version: Use Arguss to review code. Don't abuse it. Your code stays yours. We provide the service as-is. Straightforward.

1. Acceptance

By installing Arguss or using arguss.tech, you agree to these terms. If you are using Arguss on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

2. The service

Arguss is an automated code review tool. It sends pull request diffs to Anthropic's Claude API (using your own API key) and returns review verdicts, findings, and debate transcripts. The service is provided free of charge under a bring-your-own-key model.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Your content

You retain all ownership of your code, pull request content, and review data. By using Arguss, you grant us a limited licence to process your pull request diffs solely for the purpose of generating reviews. We do not claim any ownership over your code.

5. Intellectual property

Arguss, The Argument, and all associated branding, UI, and code are the property of the Arguss team. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Arguss interface or proprietary code without permission.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Arguss is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that reviews are accurate, complete, or free of errors. AI-generated code review is a tool to assist human judgment — it does not replace it. Never merge code solely because Arguss approved it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arguss and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to bugs shipped after an APPROVED verdict, data loss, or security incidents not caused by our direct negligence.

8. Termination

You may stop using Arguss and uninstall the GitHub App at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your stored data can be deleted on request per our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify connected organisations via their configured Slack or Teams webhook for material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
